You, sir, are a greater writer than I. That's no great accomplishment, but this story was freakin amazing. I actually checked to see if this was the second part or something. Anyway, this was really great and if you actually have the drive you could probably make a pretty decent zombie book.
So did you win that writing contest you mentioned in Spartan204's response?
I barely made the story deadline and wasn't mentioned in awards section. I also believe that it is pretty terrible. However I am going to make a much better, and longer part two.
Religious zombie stories? Okay, I can't think of any either. When I mentioned exorcists and priests, I was thinking more along the lines of occult, rather than religion. On that note, if you like comedy, I recommend the Evil Dead series.
Yes. It took me five hours to complete it. I almost didn't make the writing contest deadline. It took a storm in Indianapolis to get me off my ass and onto Microsoft Word to get it done.
Ah, zombies. Not a bad story, but I think zombies are becoming a bit overused, almost cliché. This is why I'm glad you never actually used the word "zombie" anywhere in the story... but at the same time, it's pretty clear that one needs to know exactly what zombies are in order to understand this story, as your explanation of what's going on is minimal.
Also, this doesn't directly pertain to your story, but when did everyone start calling "zombification" an infection? I'm assuming it was after Resident Evil came out. It was cool then, but I think modernizing the idea of "zombies" by treating it like a disease has lost its charm, just like putting vampires in a modern setting and giving them their own subculture. We need a return to the good old days, when the undead were sent back to their graves by exorcists and priests... with chainsaws.
Yeah, I wrote the story after all the crappy zombie threads appeared on the forum. I assumed the readers on Newgrounds wouldn't need much of an explanation for the undead. It is somewhat more realistic (lol) though. I doubt that a survivalist in a zombie apocalypse would know of the cause of the reanimation that early in the infection. I also based my zombification "rules" on the Max Brook's Zombie Survival Guide. It referred to the entire process as an infection and remained faithful the George A. Romero zombie movies so I assume he started it first. The Resident Evil games most probably popularized it. I've never actually read a good religious zombie story before. Any good recommendations?

My bad, the word occult slipped my mind when I was typing that out.

Fucking brilliant. Did you make this yourself?
